Artist Eugene Montgomery, below, created two huge murals - one 70 feet and another 84 feet long - for the new Sears-Phoenix store. Hopi serpent rain dances, irrigation canals, Spanish explorers and rodeos are included in the colorful scenes depicting Arizona's history. [Arizona Republic - 1962]
